Sanitation Fee Is A Bargain

Editor, The Herald:

From July 2000 to November 2009 I resided within the town limits of Farmville and I now reside out in the Prospect area. While a resident, I could count on weekly trash pick-up and recycling service at the end of my driveway – now I have a 10 mile round trip to take my trash each week. Twice a year, spring and fall, I could call to the Town Shop and have just about anything I piled at the bottom of the driveway hauled away and taken to the landfill free of charge. Now, I've got to load these items into my own truck and haul them myself. Any time I had brush or tree waste, I again was able to call the Shop and have this material picked up and disposed. When the leaves fell, I was able to rake them up to the street and the Town's leaf truck would come by and suck them up.

I sure got spoiled for those nine years and only wish I could find someone for $10 a month to do all this for me out here in the country.
