CUMBERLAND, June 14 – Bennett Lee “Benny” McKay Sr., 49, of Cumberland, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Cumberland.

He is survived by his wife Candice C. McKay; sons, Bennett Lee McKay Jr. and John C. McKay and Angela, both of Farmville and Dale A. McKay (Caitliyn) of Meherrin; daughter, Sierra J. McKay of Cumberland; grandchildren, Aliyah R. McKay, Shane A. McKay, Dale A. McKay Jr. and Cyliegh McKay; his father and step-mother, Charles W. McKay Sr. and Patsy McKay of Farmville; brothers, Charles W. “Billy” McKay Jr. (Maureen) of Prospect and Christopher C. “Chris” McKay of Farmville, and step-brothers William T. “Todd” Thompson (Natalie) of Pamplin, and Jody S. Thompson (Lisa) of Forest.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shorter Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, in the Chapel. Interment will be private.
