NEW CANTON, June 21 – Agnes Sharpe Barker, 84, of New Canton, died Monday, June 18, 2012 in Fork Union. She was born April 27, 1928 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Howard Sharpe and Janie Poe Sharpe and widow of Sidney Allen Barker Sr.

She is survived by her children, Nancy B. Brown of Arvonia, Linda B. Smith of New Canton, Sidney Allen Barker Jr. of New Canton and Brenda Barker of Buckingham; sister, Gladys Sharpe of Arvonia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in Cedar Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
