I wish for each mother a very Happy Mother's Day on Sunday.

Brianna, Charles and Christina Smith, of Keysville, spent Friday night at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith. On Saturday morning the three grandchildren helped their grandfather at his Mother's Heart booth at the Heart of Virginia Festival. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, picked the children up in the afternoon and the entire family enjoyed the festival together.

Peggy Kelsey enjoyed the Heart of Virginia Festival on Saturday with her son Phil Kelsey, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and great-grandson Bryson Philander Kelsey, of Chesterfield.

On May 5, Celena Kelsey celebrated her birthday at Kings Dominion with family.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Ashley Fisher visited in the home of Mrs. Pat Smith. They enjoyed afternoon tea together and becoming better acquainted.

Mrs. Kim Shumaker started out right May 7 with a birthday lunch with Mike then at dinner she continued to celebrate as she was joined at Applebee's by Cathy Kelsey, Celena Kelsey, her mother Peggy Kelsey, husband Mike Shumaker, and children Debra Sue and Darrell.

Mr. and Mrs. George Moore were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Scott Friend, Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton on Monday morning for breakfast.

On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows visited their son, Donald in Pamplin and enjoyed dinner with him.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher traveled to Dillwyn where they joined the birthday party for their great-grandson William. William is the son of Ashley Fulcher and R.C. Davis and grandson of Bobby Fulcher.

Mrs. Edna Woodson enjoyed a visit on Tuesday from Mrs. Flora Bolt and William Woodson. William spends each and every day with his wife, Edna.

Happy Anniversary is wished to Mr. and Mrs. William Woodson on May 14 as they celebrate their 45th anniversary.

It is always good to report when someone has improved health wise, Charles Southall Jr. has returned home after spending some time at Trinity Missions for therapy.

Family, friends and neighbors wish a speedy recovery for those who are sick at this time; Mrs. Linda W. Campbell, Mrs. Dora C. Chaffin, Mrs. Kim W. Butler, Dennis Merkle, Bobbie Leatherwood, and Floyd Garrett.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
