KENTUCKY, May 10 – Robert Lee “Bob” Chapman, 81, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Chapman was a native of Richmond. He worked as a self-employed electrician and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Jean Chapman; four daughters, Theresa C. Burgess of Virginia Beach, Lisa Jo Kimbrell and husband, Mark of Dahinda, IL, Linda L. Chapman Shulman and husband, Burke of Paducah, KY and Ruthie Godwin and husband, Carmen of Norfolk; a son, David Combs and wife, Rose of Norfolk; two sisters, Lois Plyler and Violet Shank, both of Chesapeake; brother, William “Billy” Chapman of Farmville; five grandchildren, Michael Burgess and Rachael Burgess of Virginia Beach, B.J. (Bobbie Jo) Barnes of Pekin, IL, Asher Shulman of Paducah, KY and Amber Combs of Norfolk; and two great-grandchildren, Leah and Anna Hicks of Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Chapman and Annie Fernow Chapman; three brothers, Gene, Thomas and Buddy Chapman; and two grandchildren, Philip Kimbrell and Sophia Shulman.

Memorial services were held Monday, May 7, at the Keeling Family Funeral Home, Kentucky, with the Rev. Paul H. Mullikin officiating.
