Knights' Briley Wins Five Events In Quad Meet

The Buckingham County High School boys track team won a four-way meet with Cumberland, Nottoway and Central of Lunenburg on Wednesday afternoon.

The Knights accumulated 84 points, while Cumberland finished in second with 69 points. Central scored 48 points, while Nottoway had 22.

Buckingham's Anton Briley, who is splitting time between the soccer team and boys track team, placed first in five events on the afternoon.

He was first in the High Jump, Triple Jump and Long Jump. He also took top honors in the 110m High Hurdles and as part of the 4x100m relay team.

Kenneth Johnson placed first in the 100m and 200m dashes.

The 4×100 team of Briley, Johnson, Harold Stanton and Matrice Foster as well as the 4x400m team of Austin Seay, Shaquille Webb, Tavin Manigo and Brandon Doss also took top honors.

Buckingham will travel to Goochland next Wednesday for its final regular-season meet.
