Buckingham County High School's Kassie Conway ran 1:02.49 (PR- personal best record) in the 400m Dash in Thursday's Region B Meet at East Rockingham High School. Conway has earned a spot in the Group A State Track and Field Championships that will be held on Saturday, June 2, at Radford University.

Conway was ranked eighth going into the final race and managed to sprint her way into third place during the last 150 meters.

Conway will also be running the second leg of the State Meet-bound 400 meter Relay Team that consists of lead leg Tiffany Spencer, third leg Deysia Ayres, and anchor Johniesha Smith (alternate runner Torie Glover).
