JANUARY 17 – Mary Ann McAbee Brown, 78 of Farmville passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Christiansburg. She was the wife of the late Aubrey Lee Brown.

Born in North Carolina, May 13, 1933, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Mary Elizabeth Dunn McAbee. She was retired from Amelia Dress Company after 50 years of service.

Surviving are her son, Aubrey McKinley Brown (Polly) of Victoria; daughter, Sharon Leigh Brown of Christiansburg; brother, Don McAbee (Sharon) of Mechanicsville; sisters, Peggy Wood (Norris) of Blairsville, GA and Virgie Martin (Lewis) of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Marsha Smith, Todd Brown, Angie Brown, Traci Chewning and Shannon Townley and four great-grandchildren, Gage Brown, Jacob Brown, Carson Smith and Mark Chewning.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday in the chapel of the Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
