December 22 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Kenneth Reynolds, of Buckingham, and Ralph Dunnavant, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Friday, December 23; Heath Deane, of Dillwyn, and Ruby Cogdill, of The Moore Center Farmville, celebrating on Monday, December 26; Dorothy Osborne, of Saxe, and Steve Bickford, of New Canton, celebrating on Tuesday, December 27; and Margaret (Tweety Bird) Yates, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Thursday, December 29.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Darlene Christian, of New Canton, attended the Christmas Program “How Far is it to Bethlehem?” held at Cedar Baptist Church in Dillwyn on Sunday evening, December 11. It was a packed auditorium. Everyone enjoyed the program and refreshments.
Visiting in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles of Dillwyn recently was Michael Mattoney of Amelia.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.
Barry and Linda Miles, and Darlene Christian, of New Canton, enjoyed an afternoon of great food, fun and fellowship at a Farmville Restaurant on Friday afternoon, December 16.
Welcome home to Pastor Terry Tolliver, Pastor of Saint Andrews Baptist Church in Dillwyn, after spending some time at the hospital. He is said to be getting along as well as could be expected as of this writing.
James and Virginia Boyles, Barry and Linda Miles, Cheyenne Marion and friend Ben, all of Cumberland, Blake Waycaster of Powhatan, Rodney and Sandra Ownby, Pete and Annie May Miles and Elizabeth Stone, all of Dillwyn, and Mary Billrough of Farmville and Earlene Baker of Richmond all enjoyed a great afternoon of fellowship, fun, and food at a Farmville Restaurant on Monday, December 19.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Miles visited in the home of Florence Miles in Rice last week.

Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia on State Route 672 will host a New Year's Eve Watch Night Service on Saturday night, December 31. Beginning at 9 p.m. all are invited to enjoy old-fashioned singing, testimonies, and preaching. This will be followed by a late night buffet.
Just before midnight, all are invited to join around an old fashion alter to pray the old year out and ring the new year in with a shout. All are cordially invited to attend.
