November 24 – “No need to worry! You will always have everything that you need.”

I wish for each of you a happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. Let's not forget to give thanks to the one who gives us everything.

The Prospect Historical Society members have raffle tickets for sale for a beautiful large quilt. The tickets are $1 each or six for $5, the drawing will take place Dec. 20. You may call 434-392-6431 or 434-574-6140 for tickets or go by Merk's Place.

The Prospect Community Thanksgiving service was held at the Trinity Mennonite Church in Prospect. The church was filled with residents of Prospect who had come together to give thanks. Each person present received a blessing.

Mary Jo Stockton and son Sean have returned home from Scotland. They had been in Scotland to attend Mary Jo's brothers, Jon Marc, funeral. Our prayers are with them.

Peggy Kelsey and Polly Duncan attended the Memorial Service for Carolyn White on Sunday held at the Woodlands.

Many Christmas Bazaars were going on this past weekend, Betty Meadows, Shirley Moore and Margaret Stockton chose the bazaar held at the Elementary School in Powhatan to attend. There were lots of items to choose from and they did come away with something. Later they enjoyed lunch at Erin's.

Hilda Allen, Laurie Justus, Lois Johnson and Elfrieda Kerns enjoyed the Christmas Bazaar in South Hill this past weekend.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time; Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Nancy Haga, Mrs. Shirley Fulcher, and Mrs. Alice Kelsey.

Family and friends are expressing their sincere sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones recently and especially to the family of the Rev. William “Billy” Wilson.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Robert Hall will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Otis Worley will fill the pulpit this Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
