Editor, The Herald:

As a former correctional officer with the Virginia Department of Corrections, I can honestly tell all citizens when you call 911 the phone doesn't ring at the prison! In Buckingham County the phone rings at the Sheriff's office. That office needs to be led by the sheriff, who leads from the front lines, who talks to the citizens personally; someone who knows his business, which is law enforcement. James Tyree knows his business. Law enforcing is the business of taking criminals off the streets, putting them in jail behind bars, and doing this in a fair and consistent, professional manner. I urge all voters to make it their business to elect a man who will work hand-in-hand with all citizens of Buckingham County, vote James Tyree, Sheriff on November 8, 2011.
