Editor, The Herald:

To Prince Edward County elected Democrats, congratulations! Each of you has touched my life either directly or indirectly. That's a big plus for me. Thank you.

I would like to point out that newly elected Mrs. Pattie Cooper-Jones, in my opinion, is fearless. When it comes to wrong being done she will take a stand to help the people whom she represents. I would like to also congratulate Mrs. Cooper-Jones on being elected as the First District Representative for Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors and to the Treasurer for the Fifth District.

Representatives must be formal with their duties. They must be able to have compassion for those who come to them with concerns. They need not expose citizens to more anxiety, hurt and pain. A representative should not run for public office to glorify their own hidden agenda.

Mrs. Cooper-Jones may be a fireball, but she moves with great kindness and compassion. I say to all elected officials, resist indifference. If wrong is being done, work to make it right. Lose all fear and represent all people with kindness and respect.

There is truly no substitute for experience. You all have it to be about business and get the job done.
