October 20 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out this week to Helen Reynolds, of Powhatan, celebrating on Sunday, October 23; Sandra Ownby, of Dillwyn, Aileen Snoddy of Arvonia, Mary Hayes of Crewe and Mary Snoddy of Farmville, all celebrating on Monday, October 24; Robert Gormus, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, October 25; and Bethany England (formerly of Dillwyn and now living in Tennessee) celebrating on Wednesday, October 26.

Our prayers and thoughts go out this week to all those who are sick and shut-in.

Congratulations to Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland. The couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on Monday, October 17. Also belated Happy Anniversary wishes go out to John and Sarah Davis, of New Canton, who celebrated on Tuesday, October 18.

The Byrd Family Reunion was held in North Carolina on Saturday, October 15. Attending locally were James and Virginia Boyles, of Cumberland, and Elizabeth Stone, of Dillwyn. A large crowd enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

Pete Miles, of Dillwyn, and Ray Miles, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Curtis and Faye Marion in Cumberland last week.

Barry and Linda Miles, along with Tom Snead of Glenn Allen and his daughter Cheryl Miles of Richmond, all enjoyed brunch together at a Farmville Restaurant on Monday, October 10.

Hint: To kill germs spray full-strength white distilled vinegar on doorknobs and then wipe them dry.
