The Cumberland County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

BZA 11-05: Willie Oertel Jr. requests a variance from the requirements of Section 74-137 of the Cumberland County Zoning Ordinance regarding site limitations such as minimum road frontage with respect to approximately 29.783 acres of Tax Map 96, Section A, Parcel 36. The affected property is zoned A-2, Agricultural. The applicant requests the minimum required road frontage be varied to permit the subdivision of the above mentioned lot into two parcels. The affected property is located on Oertel Drive, approximately 500 feet from its intersection with Raines Tavern Road (Route 636) in election district 5.

Copies of the complete application and text of the above variance request are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend these hearings at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
