Happy birthday wishes are sent out this week to Betty Jo LeSueur, of Dillwyn, Tammy Gough, of Wingina and Diane Green, of Cumberland, celebrating on Friday, September 9; Shirley Waycaster, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, September 10; Terry Sprouse, of Buckingham and Elizabeth cook, of Powhatan, celebrating on Sunday, September 11; and Johnny Stimpson, of Farmville, celebrating on Thursday, September 15.
Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited several residents at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn on Monday, September 5.
Happy anniversary wishes go out this week to Pastor Terry and Pam Tolliver, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, September 10.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Russell and Ester Boley and Edith Bryant, all of Cumberland, enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship at a Charlottesville restaurant on Labor Day, September 5.
Our prayers and thoughts go out this week to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland over the weekend.
Sympathy is extended to the Trent family of Buckingham. Deborah Ann Trent, 50, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening, September 5. A funeral service will be held on September 9 at Hatcher Baptist Church in Cumberland. She will be greatly missed by all.
Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, Located off of U.S. Route 672 in Arvonia, will host a Dinner and Gospel Sing on Saturday, September 10. A covered dish meal will be served at 6 p.m., followed by Southern Gospel Music from Randy Sims & Friends of Staunton. This is a rescheduled event. (It was originally scheduled for August 27.)
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, September 12 at 5 p.m. at Browns Chapel united Methodist Church, located off of U.S. Route 15 North of Dillwyn on State Route 617 (Gravel Hill Rd). All members are asked to attend and bring a covered dish for the cook-out. Note: The association will provide hot dogs, hamburger and buns.
