The Cumberland County Planning Commission will meet on Monday, October 17, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in Room C8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
Conditional Use Permit No. 11-06, National Communication Towers, LLC – A request in accordance with Sec. 74-143 of the Cumberland County zoning ordinance to grant a conditional use permit to allow for a “telecommunications tower and related facilities.” The Planning Commission will also review conditions for the proposed use. The telecommunications tower is proposed to be 195 feet in height. The request concerns the following property:
Tax Map 73, Section A, Parcel 58 with respect to approximately 10.000 acres. The affected property is owned by Fred W. & Julia M. Tipton and is located at the intersection of Cumberland Road (Route 45) and Holman Mill Road (Route 640), located on the same property as Tipton's Midway Grocers. The affected property is zoned A-2, Agricultural. The proposed tower would be on an approximately 125 foot by 125 foot lease area of the property. The parcel is not within a growth area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan. The affected property is located in Election District 4. Access to the proposed lease area would be from a proposed 30' access easement that would begin at an existing unnamed private drive north of Holman Mill Road (Route 640).
Copies of the complete text of the above conditional use permit request, proposed conditions and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia and may be inspected between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
