Pauline P. Word

SEPTEMBER 6 – Pauline P. Word passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Woodland in Farmville. She retired from the Buckingham County School system as a teacher and guidance counselor. Mrs. Word was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was involved in many local organizations.

Mrs. Word was the Herald correspondent from Enonville for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Ruby P. Ranson of Dillwyn; brother, Paul B. Peters of Indiana; stepson, Rodney Word and wife Betsy of Richmond; numerous nephews; a niece; step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-great-grandchildren. She was the widow of Benjamin Harrison Word Sr. and was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Peters, a sister, Hazel Wyatt and three stepsons, Benjamin Word, Floyd Neal Word and Scott Word.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, September 7, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 8 at the funeral home with interment following in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Remembrance contributions may be made to Enon Baptist Church, Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department or Buckingham Public Library.
