DILLWYN, Sept. 6 – Gary Eugene Isham, 64, of Dillwyn, formerly of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, September 3, 2011. A member of the First Cavalry 1/7th, he was awarded the Bronze Star for services rendered during combat in Vietnam.

He is survived by a daughter, Sara Isham of Richmond; son, Joseph Isham of Dillwyn; mother, Nancy Isham of Cumming, GA; sisters, Diane Campbell of Keysville and Peggy Audette of Cumming, GA and brother, Brad Isham of Amissville.

A gathering is to be held on Friday, September 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home with interment of his ashes in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery with military honors at 3 p.m.

Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
