NEW CANTON, Aug. 16 – Delores “Dee” Adcock, 63, of New Canton, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville.

She was born on January 7, 1948 in Leesburg to the late Raymond H. and Helen Baker. She was the wife of the late Ray M. Adcock of New Canton.

Mrs. Adcock was a member and deacon of Arvon Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Arvon Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Ann Smith and husband, Robert of New Canton; grandson, Kevin Campbell Jr. of New Canton; four brothers, Kenneth Baker of Dickerson, MD, Douglas Baker and wife, Dare of Smithsburg, MD, Paul Baker and wife, Nancy of Dickerson, MD and Raymond Baker Jr. and wife, Johnnie of Ijamsville, MD; two sisters, Mary Lance and husband, David of Bali, Indonesia, and Rose Baker of Frederick, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service was held on Saturday, August 13, at Glenmore United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, was in charge of arrangements.
