Ralph Goldman Sr.

CULLEN, July 19 – Ralph Goldman Sr. departed this life Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his Cullen residence. He was born in Charlotte County on September 15, 1924 to the late Frank and Nicey Goldman.
Mr. Goldman was a member of St. Douglas Baptist Church, but later moved his membership to St. Andrews Baptist Church.
He was married to the late Elsie M. Smith Goldman for 46 years until her death in May of 1992. He was also preceded in death by a son, Ralph Jr.
He retired from the United States Army in May of 1964, after 20 years of faithful service. He also retired from Burlington Industries. He loved to garden and going to ballgames and school events, cheering for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Goldman is survived by two daughters, Francine Faines (Michael) and Cheryl Gee (Kevin); daughter-in-law, Linda R. Goldman; four grandchildren, Tammy and Kenneth (Marcia) Goldman and Troy and Tiffany Gee; two great-grandsons, Kendrik and Kendell Goldman; brother, the Rev. Russell Goldman; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held July 6 at St. Andrews Baptist Church, Cullen, with interment in the church cemetery.
Bland Reid Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
