KEYSVILLE, June 23 – George Vickery Ingram, 67, of Keysville, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. He was born and raised in Mecklenburg County and grew up in the Trottenridge area of Mecklenburg County. His hobbies included outdoor life, working and tinkering with old vehicles, and operating heavy equipment.

Mr. Ingram was educated in Mecklenburg Public Schools and was employed by Key Construction Company, Inc. for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Ingram; son, Doug Ingram and wife, Lisa of Clarksville; brothers and sisters, John H. Ingram (Sue) of Richmond, Dorothy Bowden of Michigan, Robert Ingram of Roanoke, Martha Robertson (Al) of Glen Allen, James Ingram of New Canton, Walter Ingram (Doris) of Skipwith, Nancy Ingram of Danville, Mary French (Eddie) of Richmond, Ruth Dean (Glen) of Charlotte Court House; numerous nieces and nephews; and step-grandchildren, Josh and Libby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore L. and Mamie Vickery Ingram; brother, Nick Ingram; two sisters, Elizabeth and Rose Ingram; and step-daughter, Tonya Tallman.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 24, at Ephesus Methodist Church Cemetery in Skipwith.

The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home on Thursday (today) from 6 to 8 p.m.
