APRIL 5 – Helen Cobb Stimpson, 61, of Farmville, passed away at her home Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Audrey Scruggs Cobb and Melvin Cobb.
She was the former co-owner of Carter's Flower Shop and had a great interest in reading, and a talent in gardening, decorating, and cooking. Her favorite pastime was sharing her love with family and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Sean Thomas Stimpson and wife, Angela from Red Oak, and Chris Edward Stimpson and wife, Aneicia from Cumberland; four grandchildren, Dylan Thomas Stimpson, Justin Edward Stimpson, Ryan David Stimpson, and Hunter Jackson Stimpson; a brother, George Melvin Cobb Jr. of Charlotte Court House, and a sister, Deborah Hammer and husband, Charles of Charlotte Court House.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday (tonight), April 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held Wednesday, April 6, at 2 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Darlington Heights, with interment in the church cemetery.
