FEBRUARY 15 – John Wesley Duncan, 51, left this world for a better place Monday, February 14, 2011. He was the son of the late Claude and Thelma Martin Duncan.

He is survived by Bertha Showalter, beloved mother of his two sons, John Tyler and Wesley Taylor of Dillwyn; sister, Sylvia Dunkum and Terry of Arvonia; niece, Brandy Amos and Jake of New Canton; two great-nieces, Kaya and Aaliyah Amos; a second mom, Jeanette Powell of Faber; and his best pal, his dog Scooter.

The family will receive family and friends Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, at Centenary United Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor James Radford will be officiating.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
