POWHATAN, Feb. 15 – Eugene Kelly, 63 of Powhatan, widower of Martha Holt Kelly, departed this life Tuesday, February 8, 2011, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Kelly and Frances Kelly Pugh, and one brother, Gary Kelly.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura “Boo” Barnett and husband, Stu and Linda Seay, all of Powhatan; two brothers, Dennis Kelly and wife, Brenda of Scottsville and Arthur Kelly of St. Louis, MS; five sisters, Dorothy Perry and husband, Victor,of Morehead, KY, Mary Farrell and husband, Jim of Rice, Joyce Fore and husband, Buckie of Farmville, Phyllis Turman and husband, Don of Farmville, and Nancy Wood and husband, Billy of New Bern, NC; four grandchildren, Jordan and Ryan Barnett, and Nicole and Lauren Seay, all of Powhatan and life partner, Patricia Nixon and her son, James Nixon and devoted friend, Ray “Pop” Kite.

A funeral service was held at Bennett and Barden Funeral Home with interment in the Full Gospel Church Cemetery of Powhatan on February 11.
