FEBRUARY 8 – Allen “Bo” Hilliard Fowler Sr., 82, passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at his residence in Farmville. He was a retired Virginia Department of Transportation Employee with 44 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Garrett Fowler; sons, Allen H. Fowler Jr. and wife, Karen of Buckingham, and Thomas Mark Fowler and wife, Teresa of Buckingham; daughter, Sandy F. Yeatts and husband, Kim of Farmville; two grandchildren, Lindsey Marie Fowler and Dan Thomas Fowler; brother, Frank Fowler of Danville; sister, Martha Whitehead of Darlington Heights; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen H. Fowler and Ola Allen Fowler, and a brother, Dan Fowler.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9 at Douglas Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Prince Edward County Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 87, Farmville, VA 23901.
