Frances S. Thompson

KEYSVILLE, Dec. 28 – Frances Sheldon Thompson, 95, of Keysville, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010. She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Bessie Dixon, her brother, H. E. “Buster” Dixon, her husbands, Grover L. “Buck” Sheldon and W. Carter Thompson.
Before retiring, Frances and Buck owned and operated Sheldon's Restaurant and Motel in Keysville for over 40 years. She was a member of Keysville United Methodist Church, The Order of the Eastern Star, United Methodist Women, and the Red Hatters. Mrs. Thompson was a faithful Christian and an energetic member of the community. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her children, Virginia “Bunny” S. Cook and husband, Wilson of Burkeville, Betty S. Baldwin of Keysville, Grover L. Sheldon Jr. and wife, Jenness of Keysville, Shirley S. Sigler and husband, Michael of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, W. C. “Junior” Thompson and wife, Doris, of Ft. Mitchell, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 27 at the Keysville United Methodist Church with interment in Ash Camp Memorial Cemetery in Keysville. Memorial contributions may be made to Keysville United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 22, Keysville, VA 23947.
