The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct its annual meeting, to install officers and to establish a meeting schedule and place of meeting for the year. At this meeting, a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-1427, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, will be held to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Code Amendment 11-01 – Proposed Amendment to the Code of Cumberland County, Virginia: “An Ordinance Amending Chapter 2 of the Cumberland County Code by adding Section 2-60 to provide for personnel management and administration of county employees” The proposed amendment would prescribes certain duties and responsibilities of the county administrator for personnel management and administration, including management of compensation and incentive plans and employee benefit programs The purpose of the proposed amendment is to clarify the responsibility of the county administrator over personnel matters of the county.

Copies of the complete text of the above proposed ordinance, resolution and associated documents are available for public review at the County Administrator's office in the Cumberland County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend the hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views orally or in writing.
