Nearly a half century after reshaping the musical landscape, The Beatles have lost none of their resonance among music lovers. The band sold more than two million downloads on iTunes in the first week their back catalogue was finally available through that medium.

Over 2,000,000 downloads in a week.

Roll over Beethoven and tell Sgt. Pepper the news.

Over 450,000 full albums have been sold by The Beatles via iTunes, with their final album, and one of their masterpieces, 'Abbey Road,' topping the sales list and George Harrison's Here Comes The Sun selling more than any other individual Beatles tune.

That's really something.

But not surprising. As long as music is listened to on this planet, The Beatles will be on the world's play-list.
