On behalf of the Buckingham VFW Post 8446 I would like to thank the entire Buckingham Community for their tremendous generosity in our annual Buddy Poppy Drive held November 4-6 in Dillwyn. This support of our veterans and their families is fantastic and especially so in the tough economic times we are all experiencing. All donations made are for use in the local area. If you know of any veteran or their family in need please contact a member of one of the veteran service organizations for assistance.

Also worthy of note is the exceptional way the Buckingham Community honored veterans on Veterans Day November 11th. Buckingham Primary School, Dillwyn Primary School, Gold Hill Elementary School and the Buckingham Arts Council held very special programs for our veterans. The Buckingham High School JROTC presented the colors at the beginning of each program at the schools in a manner that all veterans could be proud of with respect and honor for our flag. We are truly blessed to be living in an area where veterans are so honored and where the children are exposed to this at such a young age. Thank you Buckingham from all your veterans.
