Henry Walker, 68

NOVEMBER 30 – Henry Junius Walker Sr. was born January 30, 1942 in Buckingham to Remus and Annie Walker. He departed this life on Thursday, November 25, 2010.
He accepted Christ at an early age, and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church until his death. He served as an usher, Sunday School teacher, trustee, and choir member. He had a strong faith and love for God. He enjoyed visiting the nursing homes.
Mr. Walker graduated from Carter G. Woodson High School. At an early age he joined the workforce at the Saw Mill, he went on to work at the Floor Shop for 17 years. In 1985 he started his own business “Walker's Carpet & Tile” serving the community for over 25 years.
He was a loving father, grandfather, godfather, and friend. He was known for his generous heart, abundance of wisdom, and charitable contributions to the community. He was known for his laughter and outspoken personality. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, cooking, traveling, working, and reading the word.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five devoted children, Henry Jr., Lisa Goodman (Leon), Lorraine Eanes (Ronnie), Anthony (Ulanda), and Quincy (Tori); eight grandchildren, Tasheba, Brittany, Jalissa, Rhonda, Jamar, Anthony Jr., Khalil, and Asha; a great-grandson, Kanez; two brothers, Aaron (Shirlene) and Donald (Brenda); a sister, Estell Butler; and a host of brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many close and dear friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys and Mary; two brothers, Robert and Charles, and a granddaughter, Robin.
A funeral service will be held December 1 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Buckingham, with interment in the church cemetery.
