Editor, The Herald:

The Woman's Club of Cumberland, GFWC, would like to say Thank You to the community for supporting the Sept. 21st American Red Cross blood drive they sponsored. It was held at Payne Memorial Methodist Church, in Cumberland, where 12 units of blood were obtained. The blood donors are special people who recognize the need and a special appreciation goes their way for their continued support. This year there were local merchants who also are to be given a big Thank You for their support by stepping up even in these hard economic times and donating gift certificates to be given as raffle prizes. The American Red Cross Blood Services of the Appalachian Regional Blood Services made this a very successful day by being so professional and caring to all. We look forward to next time.

Meeting the second Thursday of each month, 1:30 p.m. at Payne Memorial Methodist Church, corner of Stoney Point and Anderson Hwy., beside the Post Office.
