October 28 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to: Rene Marion, of Cumberland, celebrating on Saturday, October 30; George Branham, of Cumberland, celebrating on Sunday, October 31; Rodney Ownby, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, November 1; Patricia Newett, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, November 2; and Dan (Shot) LeSueur, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Thursday, November 4.

In honor of R.L. Seay Jr.'s 80th birthday, a large crowd attended a surprise birthday party in his honor on Sunday evening, October 24, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Buckingham. Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

Blake and Jacksyn Waycaster, of Powhatan, sons of T.J. and Stephanie Waycaster, spent a few days lat week with grandparents, Rodney and Sandra Ownby of Dillwyn.

A birthday party was given in honor of Ailene Snoddy's 80th birthday party by her family on Saturday, October 23 at the VFW Hall in Buckingham. A large crowd attended with great food and fellowship.

Our prayers and thoughts go out this week to all thoses who are sick and shut-in.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association (a non-profit organization) will hold their annual Thanksgiving Banquet on Saturday, November 6 at 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Route 60 Buckingham. All members are asked to attend and bring a covered dish for lunch. Note: the meats, coffee and tea will be provided. There will be door prizes and Bluegrass music by True Spirit of Richmond. Cedar Baptist Church, located just off of U.S. Rt. 15 North of Dillwyn on State Rt. 650 (Trents Mill Rd.), hosts a Men's Promise Keepers Prayer Breakfast Sunday mornings (excluding fifth Sundays) from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.)
