PAMPLIN, Oct. 5 – Marion B. Hamlet, 90, of Pamplin, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Farmville. He was born on March 4, 1920, the son of the late Jessie W. and Minnie Dodd Hamlet. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon.

He is survived by a sister, Gertrude Slayton of Lynchburg; four sisters-in-law, Lois Pugh of Darlington Heights, Dorothy Snead of Blairs, Nancy Almtruist of Federal Way, Washington, and Sally Lou Motley of Farmville; several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Jane Mays of Farmville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Hamlet, three sisters, Alease Estepp, Grace Holley, and Elizabeth Briggs, and two brothers, Clifton E. Hamlet and Aubrey Hamlet Sr.

A funeral service was conducted on Saturday from Spring Creek Baptist Church, Darlington Heights.

Remembrances in his memory may be made to the church or Prince Edward Rescue Squad.
