NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Planning Commission and the Town Council for the Town of Dillwyn will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dillwyn Town Hall, located on Main Street in said Town, to consider, pursuant to the request of Kathy W. Ranson, present owner of the hereinafter described lands, amending the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map of the Town of Dillwyn as follows: re-zoning the hereinafter described lands from their designation under said Ordinance and Map of R-1 (a limited residential district) to the designation of R-2 (a general residential district). The lands proposed to be re-zoned are described as follows:

TAX MAP NO. 125.4-1-102A: All that certain tract or parcel of land, with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto belonging, situated in the Town of Dillwyn, Curdsville Magisterial District of Buckingham County, Virginia, containing one-half (0.5) of an acre, more or less, said lands fronting on a private road known as Samuel L. Ranson Lane and being bounded on the east by the lands of Allen, on the north and west by the lands of Ranson & Burroughs, and on the south by the lands of Ranson Brothers. Said lands being the same conveyed unto Samuel L. Ranson and Kathy W. Ranson, as tenants by the entireties, from John M. Burroughs et ux by deed dated December of 1983 and recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Buckingham County in Deed Book 131, at page 442 et seq. Thereafter, fee simple title in and to said lands vested by operation of law pursuant to the survivorship clause in the aforesaid deed in Kathy W. Ranson upon the death of her husband, Samuel L. Ranson, on June 27, 2008.

This public hearing and said proposed amendment are hereby advertised pursuant to Subsection 12-1-2 of said Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Dillwyn. A copy of the plat of the subject parcel and the present Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map may be inspected during normal business hours at the Dillwyn Town Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except holidays.
