PROSPECT, Feb. 17 – Zeena C. Vanderpool, 87, of Prospect, died Thursday, February 12, 2004 in Farmville and her son, Wilbur R. Vanderpool, 64, of Florida, died December 2, 2003 In Florida.

She was born April 27, 1916 in North Carolina, a daughter of the late Boston Asburg and Retty Elizabeth Woodruff Crump. Wilbur was born May 21, 1939.

She is survived by her son, Preston “Pete” Vanderpool of Tuggle; her daughter, Betty Jane Fox of Buckingham; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Wilbur is survived by three children, Cheri Scharfenstlne, Sonny and Roy B. Vanderpool and four grandchildren.

A combined funeral service was held 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
