JULY 29 – Wlllie Ernest Rag-land, 91, of Farmville, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004.

He was born June 11, 1913, a son of the late Samuel L. and Annie Lee Godsey Ragland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Southall Ragland.

Mr. Ragland was retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Factory In Farmville and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Farmville Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sisters, Elizabeth R. Covington of Farmville, Lillia G. Ragland of Mechanicsville and Bertice R. Cristman of Glen Alien and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends this evening (Thursday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Remembrances may be made to Farmville Baptist Church.
