William M. Hubbard, 71

CHESTERFIELD, May 6 – William Milton Hubbard, 71 of Chesterfield, formerly of Crewe, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008 in Richmond. He was born July 17, 1936 in Virginia, the son of the late Samuel R. and Flossie Hubbard. He was a life-long resident of Virginia, except for a short period in Colorado.
Mr. Hubbard served his country in the United States Air Force. He owned a plumbing and heating business. He enjoyed NASCAR, bowling, fishing, hunting, playing the card game, Rook, and he loved Bluegrass music.
He is survived by his children, Cynthia A. Barrett of Chesterfield and William Peel of Denver, Colorado; grandson, Joseph A. Barrett; son-in-law, Stanley C. Barrett; brothers and sisters, Lois Young, Flossie Woolridge, Newton and Walter Hubbard all of Richmond; his companion, Katherine Melton of Blackstone and his ex-wife, Mary Hubbard of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Hub-bard.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Olive Branch United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening 7- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
