Willard A. Thomas, 89 Retired DuPont Employee, Dies

August 26 – Willard A. Thomas, 89, of Dillwyn, died Thursday, August 26, 2004, in Farmville. Willard was a retired employee of DuPont. He was born October 5, 1914, in Buckingham County.
He is survived by a son, William E. Thomas, of Rocky Mount, NC; a daughter, Carolyn T. Bolton and husband, Richard, of Midlothian; a stepson, James Duncan of Staunton; eight brothers, May-nard and Bernard Thomas, of Hampton, Ernest Thomas of Mechanicsville, Acie Thomas of New Canton, Horace Thomas of Powhatan, Raymond Thomas, of Dillwyn, Julian and Linwood Thomas of Richmond; three sisters, Lillie T. Withers of Richmond, Louise T. Dunkum of Mechanicsville, and Shirley T. Wooten, of Dillwyn; two grandchildren, Benjamin Marshall Bolton II, and Richard Thomas Bolton; and one step grand-daughter, Buffy Schilling and two step-grandsons.
A funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home in Dillwyn.
