JUNE 17 – Wayne Oden Newcomb, 67, of Farmville, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in Farmville.

He was born March 1, 1941 to the late Ernest T. and Laura Thorpe Newcomb, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest T. Newcomb Jr. of Wylliesburg and Herbert W. Newcomb of Blackstone.

Mr. Newcomb is survived by his sister, Shirley N. Elder of Farmville; niece, Debra E. Patterson and husband, George of Farmville; nephew, David W. Newcomb of Wylliesburg; two great-nieces, Crystal Newcomb of Wylliesburg and Emily Patterson of Farmville; and a great nephew, John Patterson of Farmville. He is also survived by the staff and residents of G&T Adult Home who were his friends and family.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Shorter Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
