DILLWYN, Nov. 12 – Walter Perkins Gormus, 76, of Dillwyn, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at his home. He was born November 22, 1932 in Buckingham County, the son of the late Willie Gormus and Laura Wharam Gormus.

He is survived by his daughters, Lucille Kimball of Amelia and Joann Stanley of Dillwyn; three sisters, Annie Mae Bryant and Margaret Stout both of Dillwyn, and Sarah Davis of New Canton; brother, Clarence (Monk) Gormus of New Canton; special niece, Betty G. Wallace of Buckingham; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Buckingham Baptist Church, Gold Hill, with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
