Velma Pennington, 76 Of Keysville Dies Wednesday

KEYSVILLE, Oct. 13 – Velma Godwin Harding Pennington, 76, of Keysville, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. She was a retired bank teller at First Citizens Bank, a member of the Bits and Pieces Quilting Club, and a member of Cool Springs Christian Church.
She was survived by her mother, Lee Barrineau Godwin of Thomasville, GA; daughter, Gloria Harding Cooper and husband, Lyle of New Bern, NC; son, Wendell N. Harding and wife, Barbara of Fredericksburg; daughter-in-law, Nancy Harding of Richmond; two sisters, Betty L. Godwin and Patsy Turnbull both of Cairo, GA; brother, Winton B. Godwin of Cairo, GA; three grandchildren, Brian Harding and wife, Ashley, Megan Harding and husband, Dave, and Scott Cooper; her extended family, Steve and Martha Pennington, Pete and Karen Pennington, Jacob Pennington, Ashley Pennington, and Chris and Angela Pennington. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Godwin; husbands, Nat Harding and R.G. “Bill” Pennington; a son, John Steven Harding; and an extended family member, Josh Pennington.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cool Springs Christian Church.
