August 19 – “To teach is to learn twice.”

Let's all be very careful especially early in the mornings and late in the afternoons on the highways as our young people and now back in school. We should be careful at all times.

Birthdays are great to celebrate and especially when it is your 95th and you get to celebrate all week. Mrs. Bessie Catherine Dickerson at the Woodlands celebrated on Friday for sure after celebrating all week. We wish for you many more healthy and happy birthdays.

Bethlehem Presbyterian Church celebrated its 185th birthday this past Sunday to the glory of God. Some of those attending Homecoming Services at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Darlington Heights on Sunday were J.B. Towler, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wright (Bette), of Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bolt (Betty Jean), and Stacy Bolt, of Farmville.

Sean Stockton spent Tuesday with his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Stockton, and boy did they have a good time.

Doug and Janice Mottley Kennedy spoke at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church on Sunday; a fellowship lunch was served following the worship service. Doug and Janice are home on furlough from the missionary field.

Garland Woodson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Mary) Ayers attended the Fulcher reunion last Sunday at Glenn Memorial Baptist Church in Prospect.

Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Bolt and Jennifer Page Bolt had Sunday lunch at Country Cookin' after church. Later in the afternoon Mrs. Flora Bolt visited her aunt, Mrs. Ruth Southall, at Brookview as well as Wilford Hedrick. They both seemed to be doing well. Flora Bolt then visited Mrs. Elsie Kidd at Holly Manor. She was doing very well.

Ray and Betty Noblin visited Ray Kelsey at the Moore Center on Sunday afternoon.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Special prayers are needed for Bobbie Leatherwood, Ray Kelsey, and Mary Lula Allen.

Neighbors and friends are expressing their sincere sympathy to those who have lost loved ones recently: Judith Reynolds on the death of her mother; Judy Derflinger on death of her brother; and the family of Donald Armstrong.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Charles “Chuck” Klotzberger will be back at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. William “Bill” Clark will be at Davis Memorial on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Rd in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
