RICE, July 6 – Steven Mitchell Zukowski, 45, of Rice, died Thursday, July 1, 2004.

He was born August 4, 1958 in Richmond, a son of Helen Margaret Zukowski and the late Chester Thomas Zukowski.

He had a love for family, the outdoors, all sports and working and building things with his hands. He was a multi-talented individual. He served the Chesterfield County Fire and Rescue Departments for over 14 years and was currently working with the Farmvllle Police Department as a communications officer for six years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Jean Willson; a daughter, Stephanie Leigh Zukowski of Chesterfield; a stepson, Brandon Brewer of Rice; a sister, Debbie Zukowski Hiltwine and her husband, Craig Douglas of Sterling; a father-in-law, Dr. James B. “Doc” Wilson of Rice and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmvllle, with interment in Jamestown Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Rice.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Darlington Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Chesterfield County and Fire and Rescue Departments, American Heart Association or the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad.
