BURKEVILLE, Oct. 9 – Samuel A. Cooke, 86 of Burkeville passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in Farmville. He was born September 18, 1922 in Prince Edward Co., the son of the late Thomas and Eva Thompson Cook. Mr. Cooke was retired from Burkeville Veneer Company.

He is survived by his sister, Ola C. Dunnavant of Burkeville; nieces, Janice D. Burkhart of Burkeville and Phyllis C. Michael of Lynchburg; nephew, Wilson F. Cook of Burkeville; devoted cousin, Joyce Dunkum of Burkeville and many other cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie S. Cooke and a brother, William T. Cook.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 10, at 1 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
