Ruth Steele Kissinger, 83 Of Abilene Dies Monday, June 30

ABILENE, July 8 – Ruth Steele Kissinger, 83, of Abilene, VA, died Monday, June 30, 2008. She was born August 20, 1924 in Iaegar, WV, the daughter of the late William and Bitha Steele of Iaegar, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Kissinger; an only son, Carl Lee West and wife, Wilma Sue Loveday West; six brothers, Emett Steele, Orville Steele, Quinton Steele, Jesse Steele, Lewis Howard Steele, and Audie Steele; and three sisters, Inez Steele, Bonnie Cline, and Frances Brant.
Those left to cherish her memory are a grandson, Daniel Lee “Danny' West of Abilene, VA; great-grandsons, Colton Lee West of Sumter, SC, and Justin West of Farmville, VA; sisters-in-law, Arvella Bailey, Phyllis Kissinger, and Bessie Kissinger; four nieces and one nephew.
Ruth was a member of Sunrise Chapel in Princeton, WV, and loved to sing and listen to gospel music.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA.
The Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
