SEPTEMBER 8 – Ruby Hatcher Burley, 78 of Farmville, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009 in Farmville. She was born November 22, 1930 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth Hatcher. She was the wife of the late Walker Robert Burley.

Mrs. Burley worked at Baldwin's Department Store for many years. Her love for life, family, church and friends was her greatest joy.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Burley and wife, Hazel of Burkeville and Mike Burley and wife, Terri of Farmville; a daughter, Peggy Barton and husband, Clay of Green Bay; step-daughter, Mary Ann Cronk of Farmville; sister, Mary Billbrough of Farmville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday at Worsham Baptist Church with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Worsham Family Life Center.
