DECEMBER 30 – Robert “Bob” Gwaltney, 78, made his transition Monday, December 22, 2008 at home in Farmville. He was born July 9, 1930 in East Orange, NJ, the son of Mabel and Stanley Gwaltney. His siblings, Lucy Fletcher, Hattie Young, Laura Gwaltney and Dr. John Gwaltney pre-ceded him in death.

Mr. Gwaltney married Laura Janet Trent on December 14, 1952 and from their union (the late) Robert Langston “Buddy” and Robin Lester Gwaltney-Harris.

He retired to Virginia in 1992 after 45 odd years at E. J. Brooks Co.

He leaves to mourn, his daughter, Robin; grandchildren, Eunice Mack, Jayson Gwaltney, Lauren Cook and Robin Winley; great-grandson, Rajon Gwaltney; and a host of family and friends.

A private service is planned in the home.
