MAY 26 – Polly Simpson Rousch, 80, of Farmville, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009.

She is survived by her son, Harry Summers Rousch and wife, Patricia Renee of Prospect; daughter, Katherine Rousch Dix and husband, Richard E. of Meherrin; stepdaughter, Betty Jo Leadbetter and husband, Lee of Farmville; two stepsons, William Henry Rousch of Chester, and Freddie Theodore and wife, Martha Owens Rousch of Colonial Heights; a brother, Jack Simpson of Cumberland; a sister, Frances Asal of Cumberland; and 10 grandchildren, Daniel Rousch, Samuel Rousch, Betsy Griffith, Crystal Lee Leadbetter, Tanya Rousch, Jessie Rousch, Scottie Rousch, Steve Rousch, Michael Rousch and Joey Rousch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Theodore Rousch and a sister, Virgie Nixon.

She was retired as a shoe inspector at the Shoe Manufacturing Company in Farmville.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home. Services will be a celebration of Polly's life on Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Rob Woodfin and the Rev. Clyde Singer.

Remembrances may be made in her memory to the Keysville Methodist Church Building Fund or the Activities Department at Britthaven Nursing Home of Keysville, where she resided in her later years.

Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, is in charge of arrangements.
