APRIL 7 – Percy “Pete” Archie Toney, 77, of Farmville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2009, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Thomas Toney, his father, Sam Toney, and two brothers, Bobby and Kenneth Toney.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Toney of Farmville and Janet Bates and husband, Ronnie of Burkeville; sister, Patricia T. Prince and husband, Clyde of Mascot; brother, Wayne Toney and wife, Sandra of Richmond; two grandchildren, Karl Brown Jr. and Jessica Brown; and a great-grandchild, Cameron Dabney.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Richmond.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, was in charge of arrangements.
