DECEMBER 9 – Opal Touch-ton Baker, 71, of Farmville, died Friday, December 5, 2008. She was born on July 25, 1937, in Tifton, Georgia, the only child of the late James Franklin and Oveda Peacock Touchton of Hampton.

Mrs. Baker was retired from Hiden Storage and Forwarding Co., of Newport News.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin N. Baker Sr.; step-sons, David Michael and Edwin Newton Baker Jr.; daughters-in-law, Linda B. Baker and Charlotte A. Baker; and three grand-daughters, Patricia Lynn, Elizabeth Nicole, and Kimberly Marie Baker all of Farmville.

A graveside funeral service was held Sunday in the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Browning Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
